Jack R. Kinkel and Son is committed to using a form-follows-function design principle that allows the building’s exterior to reflect the inner workings of the building. As principal designer, Jack H. Kinkel had developed a philosophy of designing buildings with a limit on the number of exposed building materials to three or four. Shade, shadow, and mass, are the main additional elements used to create interest in the building’s exterior design. Additionally the Kinkel philosophy develops mechanical situations into the architectural design. By controlling all aspects of architecture and engineering, we believe that our buildings are aesthetically pleasing as well as exceptionally functional.
